Through a partnership with Owens Corning and Purple Heart Homes, Neighborhood Roofing was able to provide Purple Heart recipient and U.S. Marine Corp veteran Tim Lang with a free roof replacement.
Tim served in Iraq. While stationed in Fallujah in 2006, he and his fellow marines were hit by an IED, resulting in life-changing injuries and the loss of two close friends. Following the blast, Lang underwent numerous surgeries and extensive therapy to recover from injuries to his leg, head, and neck. Enduring 48 operations over 4 1/2 years, he also battled infections that led to a weight loss of over 100 pounds. Despite facing depression during rehabilitation in early 2008, Lang’s perseverance shone through.
The roofing project was completed in Chelsea, MI. Tim’s story is one of incredible resilience. The owners of Neighborhood Roofing, Tom & Joy Meadows were grateful to be part of this project and be able to give back to someone who has sacrificed so much.
